LG Optimus 2X and Optimus Black released in India

The newest addition to this collection is Optimus 2X and Optimus Black. The Company is reportedly planning to add approximately 10 new phones in the coming 6 months!

LG OPTIMUS 2X

* It runs on Android 2.2 OS which can be upgraded to Android 2.3

* 4 inch TFT touch screen (resolution 480X800 pixel)

* 8 MP camera along with auto focus

* 512 MB RAM, 8 GB memory, 32 GB expandable memory

* Supports GPRS, WiFi, 3G etc.

 

LG OPTIMUS BLACK

* Runs on Android 2.2 Froyo

* 4 inch screen with 400X800 resolution

* 5 MP camera ( 2 MP front camera)

* 2 GB storage, 512 MB RAM

* Supports 3G, GPRS, WiFi.

LG Launches LG LP500 – Its New Optimus One Mobile Phone

In order to offer the most of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, the company has launched its limited edition Optimus One mobile phone for the cricket enthusiasts.

The company will offer only 1,000 units of the limited-edition smartphone LG LP500 in India. This smartphone features a shiny gold World Cup logo on the back.

This smartphone is powered by Android 2.2 Froyo edition and features a 600MHz processor, a 3.15 megapixel camera, a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 320×480 resolution, an internal memory of 170 MB as well as a 2 GB memory card slot. Some other features of the phone include EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth v2.1 and WiFi 802.11 b/g.

The Android OS can also be upgraded to v2.3 Gingerbread. The users of this smartphone can also access YouTube, Gtalk, Gmail and Google Maps by logging in only once via its automatically synchronized Google account.

LG LP500 is available across eight cities in India at only Rs. 12,990.

LG introduces Dual Core Optimus 2X to Europe

LG has announced its introduction of Optimus 2X in European markets from March 2011. Formerly branded as LG Star, dual core Optimus 2X had a Korean launch in 2011 January after announcement in December 2010. Optimus 2X is the first dual core mobile phone to hit world market. It is the pioneer in dual core technology for mobile phones. Among the features that make it an outstanding handset are:

i) NVIDIA Tegra 2 Processor with 1GHz speed;

ii) Micro USB connectivity;

iii) 8GB onboard memory;

iv) Micro SD expandability up to 32GB;

v) 4 inch WVGA Screen

vi) Rear camera with 8 megapixel, and front camera with 1.3 megapixel;

vii) 1080p MPEG 4/H 264 playback and recording;

viii) HDMI output;

ix) Battery of 1500 mAh;

x) Availability of Android 2.2 with Gingerbread;

xi) Support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1

Apart from Optimus 2X the other dual core handsets available include Motorola Atrix 4G, Droid Bionic, and Samsung Galaxy SII.

LG Plans to Introduce Six New Smartphones in India Soon

LG Electronics India has decided to pay more attention to smartphones due to an increasing popularity of smartphones in the Indian market. According to reports, the company is planning to launch six new smartphones this year and these phones will be priced between Rs. 9,000 and Rs. 32,000.

According to Vishal Chopra, business head of mobile communications at LG Electronics India, the company is chalking out plans for introducing six new models of smartphones by the end of June 2011. At present, the portion of the smartphone market is significantly low, but at the same time, there is phenomenal growth in this market and the handset manufacturers are very aggressive in this year.

The brands that will be launched by LG Electronics India include Optimus Black, Optimus Me, Optimus Pad, Optimus 2X, Optimus Star and Optimus 7.

In the smartphone segment, the company is facing a lot of competition from the other popular manufacturers of handsets, namely, Samsung, Nokia, HTC and BlackBerry in India.
